Meta Ads can be one of the most profitable channels for a growing business — but only when the basics are right. These are the five mistakes we fix most often when we audit new ad accounts.
1. Boosting posts instead of running campaigns
The Boost button is convenient, but it gives you very little control over objectives, placements and optimisation. Use Ads Manager and pick an objective that matches your real goal, such as sales or leads.
2. Targeting audiences that are too narrow
Stacking many interests often limits delivery and raises costs. Start broader, let the algorithm learn, and use your creative to speak to the right people.
3. Running the same creative for months
Ad fatigue is real. Refresh creatives regularly and test different hooks, formats and offers.
4. Not tracking conversions properly
Without a working Pixel and Conversions API, Meta cannot optimise for the results you care about. Check your events before spending more.
5. Judging results too early
Give campaigns enough time and budget to exit the learning phase before making big changes.
- Use clear campaign objectives
- Test creatives, not just audiences
- Verify tracking before scaling
